across Australia to explore the importance of community, collaboration and
collective support in national artist-run culture.

Each ARI is bonded and driven by a specific ideology, whether fully named or
unnamed, that they use as their swords and shields as they battle their way
through red tape, financial headaches, and leaky ceilings. Keep Running is a
tribute to these battles. The exhibition features ARI directors contributing
existing works from their individual practices, directors collaborating on
new work, artist books and performances.

in the Maharashtra state in western India, and is still practised today.
Traditionally, the paintings were done on the insides of their houses which
were made with a mixture of cow dung and red mud, giving it the terracotta
colour. The paintings were done using powdered rice mixed with water to form

It is a two dimensional art form, with no importance placed on perspective.
