Local and Regional Artists @ Town of Victoria Park

Event Title: Victoria Park Arts Season

Venue: Town of Victoria Park, Victoria Park.

Description: The Town of Victoria Park is transforming its annual Art Awards
event into an 'Art Season' in 2016 spanning April-May and encompassing many
events, exhibits and showcases located throughout the Town, involving local
and regional artists from various fields.

This new initiative will refresh the way the Town showcases the arts in the
community. The Art Season will aim to showcase fashion, visual art, dance,
theatre, comedy, design and literary art. This diverse program will appeal
to a wide community audience and encourage many different groups to be
involved and appreciate the arts together.

The Town encourages community groups, businesses and entrepreneurs to quote
on any great idea that would be a contribution to the Arts Season.

Event Title: New Work No Lines Marked Group Art Show.

Venue: TOTM Gallery Northbridge (previously Kurb),
312 William St, Northbridge.

Description: Five Perth designers have got together again for their third
New Work, No Lines Marked show.

The exhibition features prints, painting and illustration work from Ben
Hagley, Enrico Bettesworth, Brooke Bobridge, Ellie Henderson and Frans
Bisschops. "The show has been a chance for all of us to stir our inner
creative juices, outside the design studio and create something for
ourselves that hopefully others will love as much as we do." - Frans
Bisschops.

The opening night is on Saturday, 5th December and is the first exhibition
to be held by new Perth gallery - TOTM Gallery Northbridge (previously
Kurb).

Mike Bamford (australia) and Alfred Bamford (UK) @ Wanneroo Gallery

Event Title: The Artful Gene Project Activities.

Description: Two men, two centuries, two continents: the same fascination
for art and nature. Alfred Bamford (UK) and his great-grandson Michael
Bamford (Australia):is there something in the genes?

The Artful Gene Project Exhibition will be presented in the Wanneroo Gallery
over the summer holiday period, with many activities to participate in.
There are numerous exciting activities including; a Wanneroo night Stalk (at
Lake Joondalup), visit the Artist in Residence, community mural painting of
Lake Joondalup, Science Carols, Nature Strip workshops, Open Day at the
Gallery and Gardens for Wildlife.

Celene E. Bridge @ Merenda Contemporary

Participating Artists: Celene E. Bridge.

Venue: Merenda Contemporary,
86 High Street Fremantle WA.

Description: Through a series of detailed oil and watercolour paintings,
Bridge's first solo exhibition explores animal nature in both a physical and
metaphorical sense. The works depict animals that carry the burden of the
human condition. Animals are ascribed with human-like qualities, some
romanticised whilst others are condemned, having their instincts portrayed
as uncivilised. The cultural constructions and idealisations of these
animals act as a vessel for human virtues - essentially humanising the
"Beast".

Bridge holds a BA in Fashion and Textile Design from Curtin University and
has participated in various group exhibitions over the past decade.
Primarily working in painting and sculpture her work is often inspired by
the beauty and mystery of the natural world.

artwork, photography, ceramics, jewellery, clothing, toys, homewares,
stationery, body products, accessories and more, all made in WA!
