Mundaring Arts Centre presents Habits of Horses, a community arts project celebrating the historical and cultural significance of the relationship between humans and horses. The project brings curated exhibitions with works by international and nationally recognised artists together with community artists and exhibitions. These run alongside an impressive line-up of workshops, events, cultural celebrations and a community Open Day.
Horse Tales, presented in Gallery 2 at Mundaring Arts Centre, is a community exhibition which goes on a wild ride celebrating hay, horse hair and horse shoe artworks created through community workshops held in schools, community groups and Mundaring Arts Centre this year.
The exhibition includes a 'paddock' of sculpted hay horses; a wall-mounted mob of wild brumbies made from found objects; small sculptures, rosettes and jewellery incorporating horse hair, created by school children, teenagers and adults.

The exhibition is on show in the Mundaring Arts Centre's Gallery 2. For full project information, visit or call 9295 3991. Entry is free to the Mundaring Arts Centre which is located at 7190 Great Eastern Highway (corner Nichol St) in the heart of Mundaring. The Gallery is open Tuesday – Friday 10am-5pm and Sat-Sun 11am-3pm (closed Mondays and Public Holidays).
