'In July 2008 the 1000 year old Preah Vihear temple on the northern
Cambodian and Thai border became a focal point between the two
countries over territorial claims. Tensions soon rose to a point where
armed soldiers on both sides occupied nearby land and an uneasy
standoff took place.'
