One sugar to go @ The Claremont Hotel

Event Title: One sugar to go 2012 (OSTG).
Participating Artists: Featuring work by more than 30 artists the likes of: The London Police, Andy Quilty and Perth street art legend SHIME.

Venue:
Upstairs @ The Claremont Hotel,

Description: OSTG is a large-scale exhibition with a focus on new forms of creative expression such as Illustration and Street Art staged in conjunction with live entertainment.

Showcasing a spectacular cross-section of contemporary culture, OSTG 2012 features artwork from over 30 creative's in an awesomely eclectic display set to the musical styling's of 3 local DJ's and a live performance by special guests Sugar Blue Burlesque.

All artworks are available for purchase via live auction on the night of the event, with proceeds donated to the Leukaemia Foundation in support of their dedication to helping individuals and families affected by Leukaemia.

Loren Kronemeyer @ Free Range Gallery

Event Title: MYRIAD.

Description: MYRIAD is an artistic exploration of insect communication, framed by relationships of control and exchange. Artist Loren Kronemyer has spent the past year researching social insects with the aim of achieving a form of interspecies dialogue. Her experimental process has approached communication as a form of drawing, creating lines through a range of techniques from pheromone manipulation to environmental intervention. The resulting images are living drawings that transform under the shifting influence of insect and human intelligence.

As We Are's 10th Annual Art Award @ Central Park Building Foyer

Event Title: Act Belong Commit 2012 As We Are Art Award.

Description: 2012 marks As We Are's 10th annual Art Award and Exhibition showcasing the art work of Western Australia Artists who have an intellectual disability. Entries include two and three-dimensional works in an array of mediums including paintings, photography, drawings, sculptures, ceramics and textiles.

As we provides a platform for these artists to showcase their talent, express their creativity, compete for prestigious awards, and to exhibit and sell their art work. For some within this artistic group, art is one of the few opportunities they have to communicate - this is their voice, their chance to be heard.

Description: How often do we take the time to really observe our urban surroundings? For one reason or another we filter, augment and reproduce happenings leaving only a fraction of what we witness to memory.

Paul Stojanovic, Ross Wallace and Rebecca Anne Lee take an observant role in their own unique way. With a focus on street and landscape photography, they capture global urban surroundings through the lens of a camera.

urbanISE considers the themes of Instant, Stranger and Exploration (ISE) to showcase everyday elements, which we don't always notice.

Description: Now in its fifth year, Tilt is an initiative by the City of Melville where one artist annually is invited to explore Heathcote's multi-layered history using their chosen art medium.

This year, Eva Fernández uses photography, video and installations to materialise some of the emotions and feelings experienced in Heathcote during its past as a former mental hospital.

The artworks are shown in a wing of the Swan House, which was built in 1939 to accommodate male and female patients..

The term 'Elements' has been used to describe the artist's inspiration & muse; The forces that shape, colour and frame the natural world which they observe.

The vast and isolated regions of WA, where the artists have drawn their inspiration, have been portrayed across canvas, photographic media, textiles, objects and wearable art.
