Emily Hornum @ Free Range Gallery

Event Title: OBJECT DATA MEMORY
Participating Artists: Emily Hornum

Venue: Free Range Gallery, 360 Wellington Street, Perth.

Description: Object Data Memory is Emily Hornum's final exhibition for her
Masters by Research investigating how new media has altered traditional
notions of the family archive. The main installation in this exhibition is
comprised of over 3000 35mm slides recreated from Emily's family archives
and assembled into sculptural forms.

This immersive installation fuses the boundaries between analogue and
digital technologies to illuminate our material engagement and multi-sensory
experience with family archives and to question the influence this has on
the performance of memory.

A free event, presented by Wild Twig Studios and the Bathers Beach Art
Precinct, features an eclectic fusion of earthy homegrown bands and
musicians, local artists and artisans, and professional dancers inviting
audience participation for the whole family to enjoy.

New Orleans-style street bands will walk the streets of Freo like the Pied
Piper, showing people the way to Captain's Lane atop the Round House hill,
as the festival continues into the night.

Bring a picnic, relax on the lawn, and enjoy some great local music.
People are encouraged to get up and have a dance, and learn a few moves from
our professional dancers, who will be there to teach you the grooves...

Grab a bite to eat from a selection of food and beverages, meander through
the Artisan market stalls, explore the Open Art Studios, meet the local
artisans, and purchase some unique pieces of Artwork.

Come and discover the Bathers Beach Arts Precinct and everything it has to
offer.
We are perched on a cliff top, surrounded by green grass, intimate picnic
spots, a rolling green, hidden laneways and the sands of Bathers Beach... it

understanding of our journey as human beings together.

We invite our visitors to allow the artworks to connect to their own journey
of life and faith and view the exhibition as a medium to a deeper story, a

Description: 'Artists on the Walkpath' started in 2006 to provide art for
the enjoyment, surprise and interest of the community and to promote artists
living in the region. It has been an important part of the Autumn River
Festival for many years. Local artists create temporary sculptural or art
installations for one weekend only and all artwork is designed specifically
to interact with the environment they are set up in. Artworks in public
spaces enable artists to experiment beyond the studio and gallery. .
