Alisa Teletovic @ Inglewood Hotel
Participating Artists: Alisa Teletovic.
Venue:
Inglewood Hotel,
803 Beaufort Street, Mt Lawley WA.
Description: Come along to meet this exciting new artist.
Born in Europe, spending half her life in Australia, Alisa's art is a true combination of both worlds. Strange figures of the European people mingled with true Australian dreamlike spirit and land, makes Alisa's work unique.
If one looks carefully, one can see that her messages are real and heartfelt, romantic and poetic. Probably because of her own constant fight to survive and belong.
Alisa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from RMIT University, graduating in 1999 followed by Electronic Design and interactive media in 2000 in Melbourne.
She has been the recipient of several awards and included in the number of collections throughout Australia and Europe.
There will also be a wine tasting with Forest Hill Wines.
Date: 30 August 2010.
Opening Times: 6-8pm.

Johnson's technical clarity and emotional intensity confirm his standing as a truly professional artist. He has held successful exhibitions throughout Australia, and is represented in corporate and private collections throughout Australia, Cologne, Munich, New York, Madrid, Seoul and Canada.

Crispin Akerman @ Greenhill Galleries
Participating Artists: Crispin Akerman
Venue:
Greenhill Galleries
6 Gugeri Street Claremont WA 6010
Description: Greenhill Galleries is pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition of refined still-life works by Sydney based artist, CRISPIN AKERMAN.
Still life painting both directs and captures the gaze. Worn enamel jugs and bowls suggest a human presence; books and autumn leaves speak of the passing of time. The decorative and architectural balance implied in these forms also carries with it the notion of unbalance and chaos, as if something is about to happen. This is what is interesting about the genre, the contemplative potential in it, the suggestion of the kinetic in the static, the metaphysical promise present in the very words, 'still life'.
Start Date: 14.08.10
End Date: 24.08.10
Opening Times: Tues-Fri, 10-5pm; Sat, 10-4pm

The QCP is a non-profit, volunteer run institution, and as such they're unable to compensate writers at this stage. However, what they can offer to the writers is a great platform for exposure of your work, experience, and the freedom to work on and publish projects that excite and interest you. QCP wants 'Lucida Magazine' to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of photo-media both within Australia and internationally, and they're open to great ideas of all sorts.
If you'd like to pitch an article, have completed material you think would suit the magazine, or would like to volunteer to contribute material, they'd love to hear from you.
