Venue:
Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery,
The University of Western Australia 35 Stirling Hwy (cnr Fairway) Crawley, Perth Western Australia 6009.
Description: We live in a rapidly changing world. War and global warming mean that thousands of people worldwide are constantly crossing state boundaries or becoming stateless. Some have been stateless for generations. Australians are used to seeing the victims of the latest war or environmental tragedy on their television screens. The works in this show explore what happens beyond official accounts. The exhibition presents the work of five Australian artists whose oeuvre has taken them beyond our domestic boundaries and local concerns. These works constitute a 'reconnaissance', a survey of other places and events.

Art for Kenya @ Gadfly Gallery
Venue:
GADFLY GALLERY,
WARATAH AVENUE, DALKEITH.
Description: Susan Saleeba writes, "Through an Art Auction held in 2010 I was able to purchase land in the slums of Kaptembwa, Nakuru, Kenya. This year June 6th I again wish to hold another Art Auction and seek artists who again wish to donate a piece of their art to make a difference to those in one of the worst slums of Kenya.
Your work will be hung professionally and each piece will be given the donors name and contact details. Your art can either be donated and if not sold returned, or can have a reserve price and the proceeds to the charity. This is I know a big ask, last year was a success for the artists who donated in knowing that a part of themselves saved others. Please assist this year.

Opening Times: 4.30pm until 9.30pm.
