Following on from a sellout show in Perth this year.

Lauren Wilhelm explores contadictory themes in her new exhibition bittersweet; sadness and joy, connectedness and loneliness, cruelty and innocence. Rather than create a narrative her paintings seem to evoke a stillness and sweet melancholia. Animals still feature strongly in her works, juxtaposing and sometimes complimenting the human element.

Lauren comments on our frailty - all of us, humans and animals alike - reminding oneself about life's brevity can make problems seems smaller, simple connections more beautiful and time more precious.
