Description: Art Works, an exciting new initiative by the City of Wanneroo,
is a pop-up art event featuring local artwork for sale.

Occurring three times each year, Art Works allows the community to view and
purchase locally produced artworks, from the heart of Wanneroo at the
Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre.

Art Works promotes local creative talent by providing artists with an
opportunity to exhibit and offer their works for sale direct to the public
in a gallery setting within our Conference Room. Art tutors will be
promoting their services, providing a forum for the local community to
investigate new ways to engage in artistic endeavours.

If you're looking to purchase a new artwork for your home, invest in a piece
for your collection or become actively involved in the visual arts, come to
Art Works at the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre.

Event Title: TOYGETHERNESS: Telling Perth toy stories

Description: ECU PhD candidate photographer DeeDee Noon is inviting
participants of all ages - including adults and young people - to be
photographed in a photo booth with their most cherished toy - big, small,
old, new, handmade, fugly or cute - during her artist-in-residency at
Central Institute from 29 February to 24 March. Portrait sessions arranged
by appointment. For technical considerations, interested people are invited
to email their contact details along with a quick selfie of them and their
special toy (image and toy quality are not important) to

Description: Art making has always been critical to Elisa and Christopher's
well-being - in the search for their own understanding as well as attempting
to communicate and connect with others.

The bodies of work from both artists have their grounding in a search for
some form of 'origin story', looking intimately at utopian ideals and how
they contrast with reality.

As part of an installation in 'Improbable Returns', Christopher requests
that visitors to the opening night event bring a small bundle of newspapers
with them. These will be installed throughout the opening.

Description: In his first solo exhibition, Grasso captures the unspoiled
landscape from Argentina to Iceland, California to Western Australia, in

Event Title: Rillawood: the art of Trudy Smith

Description: A self-taught artist, Trudy Smith's paintings are mostly
imaginary landscapes, some of typical Australian scenes, some semi
abstracts. Having been passionate about art all her life, Smith didn't
start painting in earnest until she was 85. Now, approaching her 100th
birthday, she still delights in the freedom of the brush stroke and the
adventure of discovering a new image each day. This exhibition is a true
celebration - not only of Smith's 100th Birthday but also of life and of
having the courage to unleash the creative power we all have within us - at
any age.

Description: Great Southern Workshops presents a 4 day workshop featuring
Katia Mokeyeva. Katia is a world renowned Master Tutor from San Francisco,
California in the world of Wearable Art through the magical word of Nuno
Felting. For the felters in the Great Southern we had to fly over Eastern
States to attend her workshops but I have invited her to Cranbrook/Mt Barker
and she has accepted. This saves our regional artists exorbitant costs of
airfares and accommodation. GSW is a non-profit entity.

Description: An exhibition of Printmaking and Ceramics

Sue Allwood creates unique sepia etchings taking inspiration from local
flora found near her home in Fremantle. Narayani Palmer explores landscapes
which are depicted in her ceramics and enhanced by the objects found during
her exploration. Marika Leonard is fascinated by the vessel both in its
functional and decorative form. All of these elements have been brought
together to form a striking exhibition.

Event Title: Mental Health Postcards Art Exhibition

Description: Visit this amazing FREE art exhibition exploring and
celebrating mental health:

In the lead up to the WA Mental Health Conference, the public are invited to
design a postcard depicting what mental health means to them.

Entry is free.

Celebrating the value of art in both mental health recovery and awareness
raising, the exhibition is open to people of all ages and artistic abilities
and includes some fantastic prizes for commended works.

All mediums are welcome, including drawing, painting, photograph, collage,
digital design or print. It could also be a poem, word-cloud or infographic,
anything which helps you express something about mental health. Your entry
needs to fit on a flat A6 postcard (105mm X 148mm). You can also create your
own digital postcard, saved as an A6 Jpeg / PDF / PNG / Word doc at a
minimum of 300dpi.

A maximum of 3 entries per person
Artists details will remain confidential and will not be automatically
displayed. If you wish to be identified you must include your name on your
work (front of postcard, as well as back) The artist retains copyright, but

Description: Three athletes meet in a late night, never-ending training
session. A strange form of non-competitive competition unfolds before the
audience. Sweaty machismo gets a poetic makeover as sprinting, jumping,
falling and accelerating merge in an indefinable training sequence.

Drill is an exploration of the choreographic potential of athletic movement
and training that revels in an exhausted euphoria.

Description: Piece for Person and Ghetto Blaster is the excruciating story
of a man, a woman and a duck. It dissects the excruciating realms of human
behavior in an attempt to navigate the moral and ethical complexities of
becoming a better person.

A woman sees a man throwing stones at a duck. Threaded between observations
and memories of this brief encounter with a stranger are philosophical
musings about peace and conflict, moral relativism, the ethics of
intervention and the very function of art..

range of printmaking methods, stretching the parameters of the medium, some
taking printmaking techniques into photography, installation, artist's books
and sculpture.
