The Art Awards bring together 280 creative minds all under one roof. See
artworks by emerging artists alongside seasoned exhibitors and Year 12
Students.
The Art Awards Exhibition is scheduled for Saturday, 21 May to Sunday, 29
May 2016 at the Civic Centre, 10 Almondbury Road, Booragoon.
All artworks are for sale (excluding student works).

Event Title: Stepping Stones

Description: Antony Muia has established his reputation as an artist who
explores the body and the human condition through expressive drawing and
mixed media. His solo exhibition, Stepping Stones, explores the power art
has to expand and liberate us. Muia's drawings spill into sculpture, audio
and installation to encourage the audience to slow down, be mindful and
engage with art. His multi-media installation draws from the ancient yogic
meditation 'yoga nidra' to help us see art as a form of self-help, inviting
us to engage with the artworks and utilising the gallery space as a place of
relaxation and contemplation.

The Hatched: National Graduate Show maps the trends and concerns of
Australia's next generation of emerging contemporary artists. Featuring
graduates from 23 art schools and universities nationally Hatched is a
celebration of the most exciting emerging artists from across the country.
Now in its 25th year, Hatched is an eagerly anticipated annual survey of the
newest artistic practices to keep an eye on.
The $35,000 Schenberg Art Fellowship is awarded to one of these emerging
artists for career development. This is the seventh year that PICA has
worked with the University of Western Australia and the trustees of the Dr
Harold Schenberg bequest to present this generous cash prize to one
outstanding Hatched artist.
Dates: 14 May 2016 to 17 July 2016.
