Description: Machines & Makers invites the community to celebrate and
explore the exceptional craft skills of the past with an exhibition created
through a healthy obsession for sewing machines by invited contemporary
artists. Curated by Jude van der Merwe, Machines & Makers encompasses an
exciting public program of workshops, displays and events opening on 9 July
and continuing until 14 August in partnership with the Mundaring Arts
Centre, the Mundaring and Hills Historical Society, St John of God Hospital
Midland and Community Arts Network WA.

humble sewing machine. The Mundaring Hall includes a road show of
collectables, demonstrations, swap meets, stalls and events from local
community groups, with exhibitions and historical displays just a short walk
from the Hall ..did someone mention an ironing competition?

Machines & Makers is made possible through partnership with the Mundaring

Mandorla Art Award @ Linton & Kay Perth

Event Title: Mandorla Art Award.

Sally Morgan, Elizabeth Marruffo, Ken Wadrop, Jana Braddock, Christophe

Description: The Mandorla Centre for Inner Peace is proud to present the 44
artists selected as finalists in the 2016 Mandorla Art Award. Artists from
across Australia have submitted works responding to this year's theme "The
Resurrection". Presented every two years, the Mandorla Award seeks to
encourage contemporary artistic interpretations of the Bible and a different
theme is chosen for each exhibition. Mandorla is Australia's most
significant Christian theme art prize and is based right here in Perth.

Jarrad Martyn @ Turner Galleries

Event Title: The Golden State.
Participating Artists: Jarrad Martyn.

Venue: Turner Galleries,

Description: The Golden State

The Golden State, by Jarrad Martyn explores three events from Western
Australian history, the 1950s Montebello nuclear testing, the Barnett
government shark cull and the dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point in
Broome.

Building upon the cultural cringe, Martyn uses collage and painting to
unpack and re-arrange the meaning of the events, creating landscapes that
slip in-between the real and the imagined to question our interaction and
history with the landscape.

Jarrad Martyn is an emerging Western Australia artist. He completed his
Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at Curtin University with a focus on
painting and drawing.

Description: Community Arts Network, in partnership with DADAA, would like
to invite you to a special NAIDOC Week event, the BORN ON COUNTRY exhibition
opening.

BORN ON COUNTRY is an exhibition of original artworks, portrait photography,
handcrafted dolls and personal stories- all recognising the last generation
of Noongar Elders born on country. The exhibition includes a retrospective
of CAN's Bush Babies project over the last decade.
