Transitions @ Kurb Gallery

Artists: Elisa Markes-Young, Christopher Young & Gail Leidich
Venue: Kurb Gallery, 310 William St, Perth WA

Description:
The artists understand themselves as being in the state of constant change resulting from multiple migrations and the search for identity, both personal and artistic.

They all experience the feeling of living 'between worlds' - the here and there, the now and then.

This is a fractured existence, often unsatisfying and tiring yet always creative. The question is the balance between fitting in with your surroundings and cultivating your own uniqueness.

It takes time until you feel like you belong anywhere completely. For some it might never happen.

The place that fuses all your 'multiplicities' into one and gives you a sense of home isn't necessarily a physical space - it's much more a psychological state.

Dates: June 10-29, 2007
Opening Times: Wed-Fri, 12-5pm; Sat & Sun, 2-5pm
Opening: 3pm, Sun June 10, 2007
