Artist Talk.
Creativity in Confined Spaces with Peteris Ciemitis.
Creative activity is often regarded as the outcome of unfettered, free thinking, but Penumbra artist, Peteris Ciemitis argues that sometimes interesting new directions occur when we find ourselves trapped in a corner. Creativity in Confined Spaces deals with some of these instances through a series of images, and also presents a snapshot of Ciemitis‚ own creative process.
Peteris Ciemitis was winner of the Black Swan Prize for portraiture in 2010, and has been a finalist in the Archibald Prize twice. He has trouble remembering faces.
