2014 in review

Despite the carnage that has been the gallery sector over the last few years, artists continue to produce amazing work often at great personal cost.

Try and turn off the competitive bulls$%t that this 'industry' so thrives on and just support your fellow artists by getting out there, looking at their work and talk to them about it. It's not a race and you don't have to buy something for people to find it very rewarding. Build a strong community and we all prosper.

To borrow a phrase from others…. Artists united will never be defeated.

As would seem popular at this time of year, here a review of what happened on artperth in 2014.

1. We listed 104 events on the notice board. This is a little bit down on 2013 so be sure to list your events over this coming year. Remember that listings are free.
2. Our Facebook followers expanded to over 830 (from 606 at the start of 2014).
3. Engagement with the Facebook page is still a bit of a problem, in that facebook is restricting how many followers see posts. Be sure to turn notifications on should you want to see everything.
4. Looking at the stats you all very much seem to like to see images of exhibitions, talks, etc. We'll try and get out and about more this coming year.

In 2015, we will also be doing a redesign of the website to focus more on artist's work.
