Judy Rogers @ Collie Art Gallery
Event Title: Judy Rogers Out of the Suitcase Exhibition.
Participating Artists: Judy Rogers.
Venue: Collie Art Gallery,
134 Throssell Street Collie.
Description: Rogers is bringing her exhibition home after first showing it in Budapest, Hungary during January 2016. She has condensed her Western Australian existence to the size of a suitcase, carrying pictorial representations of her family life, happiness, fears and some images of her surroundings in Perth. Personal story or mundane moments of the artist's life are granted status and brought forth for the viewer's reconsideration? It is up to the Western Australian audience to decide.
First showing in Collie Art Gallery in the winter of 2016, and then during February 2017 in Mandurah Performing Art Centre. Floor and wall installations of mixed media works on wood panel. Rogers is excited to be sharing her secrets in two workshops being held during the exhibition. Participants will get up close and personal with a mirror to learn the principles and techniques of life-like portraiture in two three-hour workshops, one aimed at beginners and one for more advanced artists.
Basic workshop: 2-5pm, Saturday 23 July
Advanced workshop: 2-5pm, Saturday September 3.
Dates: 22 July 2016 to 03 September 2016.
Opening Times: Thursday – Monday 10am – 4pm.

Wade Taylor @ Spectrum Project Space
Venue: Spectrum Project Space,
Building 3.191, 2 Bradford Street, Perth, Australia 6050.
Description: In Fertile, Free, Wade Taylor explores the potential and
charged nature of the Vacant and highlights the tension between the
stillness and the promise of empty landscapes and abandoned spaces.
Taylor's work suggests the void of human presence and the energy that
lingers in these familiar and pedestrian scenes...it's parks, underpasses,
toilet blocks and car parks.
Wade Taylor is an emerging artist from Perth, Western Australia. He
completed a Bachelor in Fine Arts at the University of Western Australia in
2012 with a focus on painting, film, and multi-media installation. While
working primarily with paint, his practice often extends to include
investigations in collage and ceramics. Taylor has had successful solo
exhibitions at Free Range and Paper Mountain.
