Description | Using footage drawn from iconic Hollywood films, sitcoms, telemovies and arthouse cinema Moffatt and Hillberg explore subjects of universal significance such as love, motherhood, revolution and destruction. Each montage invents new narratives and fictions, playing with character conventions to create emotionally charged compositions. While Hillberg brings an encyclopaedic knowledge of film and editing skills to the partnership, Moffatt uses storytelling to shed light on issues of gender, race, sexuality and identity, often in a distinctively Australian context. Her work draws on both popular culture and her own life experiences and background. |
