A solo exhibition of drawings and paintings by ECU Honours graduate Ben Mitchell looking at the strange urban phenomenon of discarded footwear. Since 2003 Mitchell has been photographing and recording the aftermath of accidents and incidents leading to the abandonment of peoples shoes, from drunken revellers to kids chucking their shoes out of car windows.
Some of the works have been produced on abandonded materials found near the shoes location in situ from particle board to street signs while others are studio based oil on linen and canvas and works on paper.
