The artists selected for 'Drawn'‚ share a common passion for materials and process; their practices encompass a variety of approaches to the subject of drawing. For many, drawing is considered the foundation of all artistic practice. Drawing can be many things; a meditation, a study, an exploration of ideas, but often artistic intervention becomes sidelined in preference for conceptual objectives. Drawing has the potential to capture a rare and unguarded moment of clarity during the artistic process.
'Drawn' showcases works from a diverse group of artists; whose work affirms the necessity and relevance of drawing in contemporary art.
