Description:
The Oats Factory is pleased to present a new group exhibition featuring the works of three emerging artists; Shelley Brookland, Melanie Diss and Connla Kerr. This exhibition includes painting, ceramics, printmaking and sculpture. The practices of these three artists are linked by common themes of memory and personal experience.
Melanie's candy coloured paintings are richly layered objects which expose the aesthetic of beautiful decay which lies underneath the layers of excessive decoration in every home.
Shelley spends most of her spare time searching for small porcelain treasures. Works featured in the exhibition include musical boxes adorned with pampered pooches, lambs frolicking in dioramas and lost puppies.
Connla's ethereal works combine printing processes with ceramics, beautifully handmade porcelain plaques reflect memories of landscape.
Dates: 30 July 2011 to 14 August 2011.
Opening Times: Wed- Sun 12-5pm.
